cHurcH & Ministry
Let the sound of the saxophone stir hearts and glorify Jesus Christ at your next event. Tony prayerfully aligns his music with the theme of your event — whether a church service, anniversary celebration, or Christian conference — and integrates some of his original smooth/gospel jazz music into the music worship experience. He is also capable to complement his music with brief, uplifting messages that connect with the congregation and magnify the Lord.
frequently Asked questions
Q: When should I contact you for booking?
A: As soon as you know the event date and that you want music! It will lock you in on my calendar and we can work through the exact details when you have them. Don’t let you date become unavailable because you’re waiting to figure out every detail - I’ll work with you every step of the way!
Q: What’s your booking process?
A: Complete my Booking Request Form —> Schedule a Music Discovery Call (where we’ll further discuss the details of your event) —> Receive a contract —> Submit deposit with signed contract.
Q: What events do you specialize in?
A: I play at a variety of private events, such as the ones listed above.
Note: while this webpage focuses on private events, I also perform at concerts and festivals. If you’d like to know more about those performances and/or me as a national recording artist, please visit my Press Kit page.
Q: What genres of music do you play?
A: Jazz, Christian/gospel, and R&B/soul are the three genres that I play most often. I also enjoy music outside of those genres. As long as the music is positive and clean, it’s fair game!
Q: What’s the name of the straight saxophone that you play?
A: The straight saxophone is called a “soprano saxophone” — it’s my favorite of all the saxophones. It’s the saxophone at Kenny G is well-known for in smooth jazz, and in straight-ahead/traditional jazz, Sidney Bechet, John Coltrane, and Wayne Shorter were a few great soprano saxophone players.
Q: Why do you switch saxophones during your performances?
A: Since the saxophone is the closest instrument to the human voice, I aim to make every song “sing” — especially covers of vocal songs. So, I’ll play whichever saxophone sounds closest to the original song.
Q: Why should I hire you?
A: It’s rare that somebody asks me that question in those exact words! But, hopefully reading performance reviews from past clients is helpful — they’re available here on my Google Business Page.
I will say, customization is very important to me — I want the musical experience to feel like it’s tailor-made for you. I can honestly say, I’ve never had an identical playlist for any two events. Check out this video where I briefly talk about my customization process when curating an event playlist.
